Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji has responded to rumors about his connection to the newborn son of fellow actress Dayo Amusa.
Last week, Dayo Amusa joyfully announced the birth of her baby boy, Oluwafirewamiri, expressing gratitude to God for the blessing. On November 26, 2024, she hosted a naming ceremony for her son, which was attended by notable colleagues, including Fali Werepe, Omowunmi Ajiboye, Iyabo Ojo, Tope Osoba, and Damola Olatunji.
Videos from the ceremony stirred speculation when Damola was seen sitting beside Dayo, seemingly playing the role of the father. Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a video of the event and offered prayers for the baby.
“Yesterday was all about ABDULRASHEED OLASUNKANMI OLUWASEGANMIDOG. May you continue to grow in God’s wisdom and understanding. @dayoamusa,” he wrote.
However, curiosity peaked when a fan questioned him in the comment section, asking, “Hmm. So are you the father of the baby? This is very serious o.”
Damola humorously replied, “Abi ooo, seriously serious,” neither confirming nor denying the rumors.
Similarly, Dayo Amusa addressed the speculations with a witty response. She quipped, “Are your husbands missing, or are you counting census?” suggesting that the paternity of her son should not be of public concern.
This speculation comes months after Damola Olatunji publicly split from his former partner, Bukola. The pair, who were blessed with twins, had been estranged since May 2023. Bukola’s announcement clarified that they were never married, prompting Damola to share uplifting posts about moving forward.
In an earlier interview, Damola revealed that misconceptions about his personal life often spread like wildfire. He emphasized that love can fade and encouraged couples to amicably part ways if a relationship no longer works rather than letting it escalate into conflict.
For now, both Dayo and Damola appear to be focused on their individual paths, while dismissing unwarranted rumors with grace and humor.
