Nigerian music star Davido is making headlines again with a lavish gift for his wife, Chioma, while attending Paris Fashion Week. The singer splashed millions on two matching Hermes bags, further expressing his love for his wife.
Sharing the moment on his Instagram story while in Paris for Fashion Week, the singer posted a photo of the luxury bags with the caption: “Happy wife, happy life.”
The extravagant gift drew a range of reactions from his followers, with some applauding the gesture while others expressed their thoughts more critically. Comments ranged from admiration to questioning the emphasis on material gifts in relationships. One follower, @Sunsherry_of_lagos1, remarked, “Always competing with himself,” while others like @Emmanuel_friday_20 and @Cindy122515 questioned the value of material displays of affection.
However, many fans admired the gesture, with @Tizah Skincare humorously commenting, “Me I tap into Hermes bag o.”
This is not the first time Davido has showered Chioma with extravagant gifts. In May of the previous year, the couple received matching diamond rings with the inscriptions “001 and 002,” which represent their titles as the first lady and leader of his 30BG crew.
Further, in 2023, Davido celebrated Chioma’s twin babies’ homecoming by gifting her designer bags worth over $10,000, which amounts to a staggering N100,000,000. Reports also surfaced claiming that Davido had gifted Chioma a mansion worth $900,000 as a push gift, although Kemi Olunloyo later advised him to keep some aspects of his life private.
In June 2024, the couple’s love story reached new heights when they tied the knot, with Davido pledging to protect and honor Chioma.
Looking ahead, the couple is reportedly planning a glamorous White wedding in the Caribbean Islands, with the Bahamas set to be the venue for their February ceremony, which is expected to be a premium event.
