An adorable video has surfaced online showing the moment Davido introduces Chioma to French President Emmanuel Macron. The Afrobeat superstar, accompanied by his sister Sharon Adeleke, Cubana Chief Priest, and manager Asa Asika, recently met with the French leader to discuss shared ideas for a better world.
The meeting took place on Thursday, October 23, and Davido later shared photos from the event on Instagram. While he didn’t reveal details of their conversation, he mentioned that they spoke about visions for global progress and positive impact.
In a viral clip from the meeting, Macron was seen chatting with Davido’s sister when the singer excitedly interrupted to show the President his wife. Davido had called Chioma on FaceTime and introduced her, drawing smiles from those present.
The singer humorously captioned the video:
“If it’s your turn, hide your wife.”
Following the meeting, nightlife king Cubana Chief Priest took to Instagram to praise Davido, sharing clips from their interaction with Macron. He wrote:
“Person wey get @davido get God. Like this the amazing first French family. Na our guys.”
Cubana also expressed pride in Davido’s growing global influence, describing him as a powerful force who continues to make Nigeria proud.
Meanwhile, Davido’s home state, Osun, has appointed him as Chairman of the newly established Osun State Sports Trust Fund. The state government said the initiative will attract private investment and long-term funding for sports development, facilities, and athletes.
Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports, Kola Adewusi, confirmed that Davido accepted the role without hesitation, expressing confidence that his involvement will boost support and visibility for sports in the state.
However, the appointment has sparked mixed reactions online. While many congratulated the singer, others raised concerns about nepotism given his family ties to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In May, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce predicted that Davido could one day become the Governor of Osun State, citing his charisma, influence, and political background.
Davido has long been involved in Osun politics, campaigning openly for his uncle during the gubernatorial elections. He later celebrated the governor’s victory and lauded his developmental projects in the state.
The singer has also commented on national politics, once calling out the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its handling of elections and urging Nigerians to defend their votes.
Shortly after his meeting with Macron, a resurfaced video showed Davido proudly speaking about his global reach. In the clip, the singer revealed that he has personal connections with several world leaders.
“Apart from my daddy’s business accomplishments, I know how many places my music has helped my family enter. I have 14 presidents’ numbers on my phone. I can call them directly,” he said.
