Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has joyfully celebrated the arrival of her first child, hosting a naming ceremony on Monday, November 26th, for her newborn son, Oluwafirewamiri, affectionately called Olufire.
The intimate event saw the attendance of her Nollywood colleagues, including veterans like Fali Werepe, Iyabo Ojo, Wunmi Ajiboye, Damola Olatunji, and Tope Osoba. Videos from the ceremony captured a radiant Dayo showing off her dance moves, while Fali Werepe was seen showering her with money in celebration.
Last week, Dayo announced the birth of her baby boy, expressing gratitude to her Maker for the long-awaited blessing. Sharing photos of herself with her son in bright yellow attire, Dayo celebrated her joy at becoming a mother. Fans flooded her social media with congratulatory messages and prayers for the new mum and her baby.
One fan, @temmy_business_world, commented:
Baby can make one calm. See her nail—no artificial nails. Someone that is always on nails. Motherhood looks good on you, sis.”
@olatunji_khadijah added:
“Her joy is permanent.”
However, not all comments were celebratory. Many fans questioned the absence of her son’s father at the naming ceremony. During a Live Instagram session, Dayo addressed the speculation with a sharp response:
Please, is your husband missing? Or are you counting the census of husbands, and you were told that your husband is with me; hence, you are asking for the father of my child? Don’t waste your time looking for my kid’s father; there are certain things you can’t have satisfaction for.”
Despite the questions, Dayo remains focused on her new role as a mother, sharing her excitement about the journey.
For years, Dayo Amusa faced online mockery for her struggles with infertility. In 2023, she cursed her detractors who ridiculed her over her inability to conceive, especially after her public support for APC presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dayo has also opened up about her past experiences, including surviving an abusive relationship and learning the value of self-love. While she has embraced independence, she continues to advocate for realistic expectations in relationships and marriage.
With the arrival of Oluwafirewamiri, Dayo Amusa has turned a new page, proving that her joy is truly permanent. Fans and colleagues alike continue to celebrate this new chapter in her life.
