Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has vowed to take strong legal and personal action against a content creator who recently accused her of being HIV positive.
Taking to her Instagram page, the Yoruba movie star explained that she had shared her HIV test result years ago—which came out negative—to encourage her fans to get tested. However, she was shocked to discover that someone twisted the narrative, using the old post to spread a damaging lie.
A few years ago, I did an HIV test, which came out negative, and I posted it to encourage my fans to get theirs done.
Some days ago, a content creator (second slide) posted it on his page that I am HIV positive.
By now, he knows what he is going through because I will not let this slide,” she wrote.
Dayo Amusa threatened to make the person a scapegoat, warning that such reckless behaviour must stop. She questioned why content creators and bloggers continue to post unverified information that damages reputations and hurts families.
I have families and friends who read all these lies. He will be my scapegoat and serve as a lesson to others. I am not HIV positive,” she concluded.

Earlier this year, media personality Denrele Edun recounted how people once refused to touch him or let their children near him due to assumptions he had AIDS. He shared how he had been labelled all sorts of things—anorexic, malnourished, and HIV positive—until he began gaining weight, calling it a beautiful moment.
Actress Uche Ogbodo also once opened up about being accused of having HIV during a period she battled an undisclosed illness. Despite the rumors, she stood strong through the storm.
In another past revelation, Amusa shared that she once stayed in an abusive relationship that nearly destroyed her. She said it was tough to leave because she had always seen herself as a fixer—but eventually, she chose to save her own life.
