Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has told the club’s attacker Marcus Rashford what he needs to do to reach the levels of Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
Rashford had a superb 2022-2023 campaign for Manchester United. The England international scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists in 56 appearances across all competitions for Erik ten Hag’s side.
Rashford recently signed a new long-term contract with Man United and Rooney believes the 25-year-old needs to be the player that would get the Red Devils back to winning titles in order for him to reach both Mbappe and Haaland’s levels.
“I think Marcus Rashford is an incredible talent. I am delighted he has signed a new deal,” Rooney said (via The Mirror).
“I think the next five years are going to be important in his legacy. He can score a lot of goals but if he really wants to go to that level which Mbappe and Haaland are at he really needs to be the man to get Manchester United back to winning titles and I hope he can.”
