England dominated Germany in their final Euro Under-21 Championship group game, winning 2-0 and dumping the holders out of the competition.
Two goals in the opening 21 minutes from Cameron Archer and Harvey Elliott were enough to secure another three points as England topped Group C with the maximum number of points.
Noni Madueke was a key figure for England again. They became the first team to end this summer’s European Under-21 Championship group stage with a 100 per cent record. They recorded their third 2-0 win in as many games, eliminating holders Germany in the process.
Madueke swapped PSV Eindhoven for Chelsea in the January transfer window, penning a seven-and-a-half-year deal with a club option for the 2030-2031 season.
The England U21 international of Nigerian descent started five of the last six games played by Chelsea in the Premier League.
England face Group A runners-up Portugal in the Euro Under-21 quarter-finals in Kutaisi on Sunday night.
