Chelsea will not fire Frank Lampard in spite of his poor performance since taking over the London club, according to Sky Sports.

Chelsea sank to yet another home defeat as Brentford inflicted a fifth consecutive loss on Frank Lampard with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

French Legend, Frank Leboeuf, urged Frank Lampard to quit his role as caretaker manager. This was immediately after the Blues’ latest defeat. Leboeuf also warned Lampard that he might not win a game until the end of the season.

Meanwhile the clubg is edging closer to appointing Mauricio Pochettino. However, he will not take over until the end of the season. During negotiations, Chelsea’s squad size and recruitment have been discussed as well as the make-up of Pochettino’s backroom staff.

Chelsea have already tumbled out of the Champions League under Lampard – losing a two-legged quarter-final tie with Real Madrid. They still have testing fixtures to come against Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle in the Premier League.
