Taking to her Instagram and Twitter accounts, Funke posted a video showcasing her journey to success. She admitted that the path was not always smooth but affirmed it was worth every effort. The actress expressed pride in her humble beginnings, emphasizing her reliance on hustle and dedication to achieve her dreams.

Funke also reflected on her personal growth after attending Iyabo Ojo’s Labake Olododo movie premiere, revealing how her evolving style mirrors her transformation into her best self. She highlighted her embrace of positive vibes, growth, and continual self-improvement.
During a recent speech at the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) 2025, Funke recounted the origins of her hit Jenifa brand, acknowledging God as the ultimate force behind her success. She shared how her determination to bring her ideas to life was bolstered by industry support, recounting how someone believed in her vision and provided financial backing to grow the Jenifa brand.
Funke also opened up about overcoming personal and professional struggles, including being stereotyped early in her career due to her appearance. She credited actresses Iyabo Ojo and Sikiratu Sindodo for standing up for her during a challenging moment on set, which helped her regain confidence.
Today, Funke reigns as Nollywood’s box office queen. Her latest cinema hit, Everybody Loves Jenifa, has set a record as the highest-grossing film in West Africa, amassing ₦1.6 billion, surpassing her previous blockbuster A Tribe Called Judah, which earned over ₦1.4 billion.
Despite her intense work ethic, Funke values rest and balance. Responding to a fan on Twitter who admired her tireless energy, the actress clarified that she takes time off to recharge.
