Last year, skitmaker Kiekie stirred controversy when she opened up about her decision to share and split bills with her husband, aiming for a more stable partnership. Her statement did not sit well with many, including actress Peggy Ovire, who criticized her and insisted that it is a husband’s responsibility to pay the bills, especially if he can afford it. Ovire argued that her role is to take care of the home and handle emergencies, as her husband wouldn’t allow her to split bills.

Actress Chizzy Alichi echoed similar sentiments, stating that she refuses to be part of the women who split bills with their husbands, believing it is the husband’s duty to cater to the household.

IK Osakioduwa’s perspective adds to the ongoing conversation about gender roles and financial responsibilities in marriages, highlighting diverse opinions and practices within the Nigerian society.
