Iyabo Ojo office building catches fire, leaving the Nollywood actress shaken but deeply thankful for life and swift emergency response.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at around 7 p.m., a fire broke out at Iyabo Ojo’s office building. Sharing a video of the incident on Instagram, the actress expressed her gratitude to the Nigerian Fire Service and her dedicated staff for stepping in quickly to manage the situation.

In her words, “The devil tested us today, but God said no.” She added that though the fire caused damage, she’s choosing to focus on gratitude—especially since no lives were lost.

“With God on my side, we will bounce back bigger and better,” she said.

The incident has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry, many of whom are relieved that the tragedy didn’t claim any lives.

Iyabo isn’t the first celebrity to experience such a traumatic event. Just last month, actress Bose Alao survived a fire outbreak at her residence and praised neighbours for joining hands before firefighters arrived.

In 2023, Mercy Aigbe’s Lagos mansion went up in flames. Though devastated by the loss, she held on to hope and gratitude for life. Around the same time, Bidemi Kosoko also lost her home to fire. Her sister, Sola Kosoko, shared a video online as the family processed the damage.

It’s not only actors who’ve faced such misfortune. Singer Orezi’s luxury home, valued at over ₦300 million, was also destroyed by fire. Singer Small Doctor and comedian AY similarly lost properties in separate fire incidents. Thankfully, none reported any casualties.
