Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has shared a touching message of gratitude with the public, following the overwhelming support she received after her office was gutted by fire.
Taking to Instagram, the movie star acknowledged the prayers, words of encouragement, and kind gestures from fans, friends, and colleagues alike. She noted that she sees and values every show of love.
“I see the love and support, your words of encouragement and prayers. I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. I don’t take it for granted,” she wrote. “My beautiful people, please be at peace: though the devil may rage, God triumphs in the end.”
Earlier this month, Iyabo’s office building was engulfed in flames. In a video shared online, she thanked the Nigerian Fire Service and her team for responding swiftly and helping recover what they could. She also expressed gratitude to God that no lives were lost, affirming her belief that divine protection prevailed.
Even in the middle of her crisis, a group of men was seen in Lagos chanting negative remarks against her, linking her vocal stance on the late singer Mohbad’s case to unnecessary controversy.
In response, Iyabo clarified in an Instagram post that she never accused anyone directly in connection with Mohbad’s death. She opened up about the years-long harassment she has endured—from public threats to receiving a life-threatening letter days before her daughter’s wedding. Despite these challenges, she chose to remain calm and strong.
Her close circle and colleagues have since rallied around her. Actress Lola Alao praised Iyabo as a selfless giver and a fighter for others, while Opeyemi Aiyeola described her as someone who, despite being caught in emotionally intense situations, remains an angel to many.
Many others have shared their testimonies of Iyabo’s kindness:
-
Ashabi Olorisha prayed that her good heart continues to speak for her and her generation.
-
Kiitan Bukola recalled how Iyabo gave her a place to stay after her house was demolished in Lekki.
-
