It is a season of joy for Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, who has officially become a grandmother.
Reports confirmed that her daughter, Priscilla, and her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy.
Taking to Instagram, Iyabo Ojo shared a beautiful moment from the labour room featuring herself, Priscilla, and the newborn. Overflowing with gratitude, the proud grandmother introduced her grandson to the world, revealing his name as Prince Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala.
“Say hello to the latest grandma in town,” Iyabo captioned the photo, sparking an outpour of congratulatory messages from colleagues and fans alike.
Funke Akindele wrote, “Oluwatosin, my birthday mate.”
Mercy Aigbe added, “Congratulations, my darlings.”
Stephanie Coker hailed her as the “latest grandma in town.”
Other stars such as Steve Chuks, Omowunmi Ajiboye, Tawa Ajisefinni, Bukola Arugba, Uchenna Nnanna, Joke Jigan, and Nuella Njubigbo also celebrated the joyful news.
Just weeks before the delivery, Iyabo Ojo and her colleague Lola Alao organized a surprise baby shower for Priscilla in Canada. Although the actress initially hesitated, fearing unnecessary social media drama, she later embraced the idea, declaring that God’s blessings are meant to be shared.
At the event, Iyabo gave a heartfelt speech, praying for her daughter’s marriage to be blessed and long-lasting. She told Priscilla that she had paid the price through her own experiences to ensure her daughter enjoys peace and happiness in her home.
