Nigerian singer, Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, popularly known as Joeboy, has said Grammy-winning star, Wizkid made young artists in the country believe they can hit stardom at a young age. He said this on the most recent audiovisual podcast episode of Body & Soul.
“Before Wizkid, it was difficult for young artists to blow early,” the “Baby” crooner stated.
After initially meeting Wizkid, Joeboy claimed he knew he would become famous.
He said,
“One thing I really appreciate about Wizkid is that he made young artists believe that they could pop [hit stardom] at a young age. Before Wiz, if any artiste pop, it was probably at a very later stage in life. But after Wiz young people started coming through.”
