Joke Silva celebrates Olu Jacobs’ 83rd birthday barely a year after the family had to debunk another death rumour. In July 2024, a Facebook user named Oba K Solo falsely claimed the actor had passed on. The family quickly silenced the rumours by sharing a video of Olu Jacobs alive and getting a haircut.
Marking his birthday that year, Joke had also shared a touching video collage showing Olu Jacobs through the decades — from his prime to his quiet moments at home. She later posted that she had received over 4,000 messages and responded with a prayer of thanks to everyone who celebrated him.
In recent years, Olu Jacobs’ battle with dementia has been public knowledge. Joke first opened up about his health in 2021, and in 2023, she admitted how the illness had taken a toll on their marriage. Despite the emotional strain, she affirmed that the man he has become is still someone she deeply loves.
