Jose Mourinho Expresses Desire for Second Stint at Manchester United

According to reports from the Manchester Evening News, Jose Mourinho has expressed a keen desire to manage Manchester United once again, despite the club’s reluctance to reappoint the Portuguese tactician.

Mourinho, who was previously sacked by Manchester United in December 2018, reportedly confided in close associates, expressing his willingness to “walk” to Manchester for the opportunity to manage the club for a second time.

Despite rumors of a friendship between Mourinho and United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the two-time Champions League winner does not anticipate an approach from his former club.

Speculation about Mourinho’s interest in the Manchester United job arises following the team’s recent setback, suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace. The defeat has left current manager Erik ten Hag’s side languishing in eighth place in the Premier League standings.

During his previous tenure at Manchester United, Mourinho secured notable success, winning the Europa League and League Cup during his two-and-a-half-year tenure. Since departing from Manchester United, Mourinho has managed Tottenham Hotspur and Roma, notably guiding the latter to Europa Conference League glory in 2022.
