Kano cancels secondary school qualifying exams over nationwide strike

The Kano State Ministry of Education has cancelled secondary school qualifying examinations due to the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress’s strike action.

The Ministry had scheduled the tests for Tuesday, November 14, 2023, but has now delayed them indefinitely.

The statement read:

“The State Ministry of Education, has suspended 2023 Secondary Schools Qualifying Examination (SSQE) scheduled to take place today Tuesday 14th Nov. 2023 till further notice.”

According to the statement written by the Ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, asked students and parents/guardians to deal with any inconvenience caused by the suspension.
