Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem housemate Kim Oprah has urgently called for assistance after a fire broke out at the popular recreational spot, Bogobiri, located in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Taking to social media, she shared a video of the fire and pleaded for the immediate intervention of the Lagos Fire Service.
Please we need the attention of the Lagos fire service right now …. Bogobiri is burning HELP!!!! @followlasg @AdeShaqz,” Kim Oprah wrote in her post, showing her distress over the devastating incident.
Kim Oprah’s plea comes amidst a series of high-profile fire-related incidents involving Nigerian celebrities in recent years. Earlier this month, reality star Faith Morey expressed her heartache over the wildfires devastating California, showing gratitude for her safety while sympathizing with the victims and commending the bravery of firefighters.
In December, actress Mercy Aigbe and her husband Kazim Adeoti lost their Lagos mansion to a fire. While devastated by the loss, Mercy expressed relief that no lives were lost in the incident. Similarly, actress Uche Ogbodo suffered losses in September when two of her stores were destroyed, one by flood and the other by a government demolition. She mourned the destruction of years of hard work and dedication.
In 2023, other celebrities also faced fire tragedies, including actress Bidemi Kosoko, singer Orezi, and singer Small Doctor. Both Orezi and Small Doctor saw their homes destroyed by fire, but fortunately, no lives were lost. Additionally, comedian AY’s Lagos residence was gutted by fire, leaving behind extensive damage. Even the Ooni of Ife’s palace was not spared when a fire razed one of its buildings earlier in the same year.
As the fire at Bogobiri continues to make headlines, Kim Oprah joins a growing list of Nigerians affected by devastating fires, calling attention to the importance of quick emergency responses.
