Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has faced backlash from social media users after posting the funeral arrangements for the late actor Sule Suebebe.
Suebebe, a beloved figure in Yoruba cinema, passed away on Wednesday, June 12th, in an undisclosed hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State. The sad news was initially shared by Pastor Ademola Amusan, also known as Agbala Gabriel, who had been caring for the ailing actor.
Kunle Afod took to Instagram to share details of the funeral, announcing that Suebebe would be laid to rest on June 21, 2024, at Agbala Gabriel Egbeda Church in Ibadan. “Final burial arrangements for Sule Suebebe. Rest in peace,” he wrote.
While some colleagues offered their condolences, including Mustapha Sholagbade, Yomi Fabiyi, and Shola Kosoko, many fans and followers expressed their displeasure at Afod’s post. They criticized him for not supporting Suebebe during his lifetime, especially when he was in need of help.

Suebebe had recently experienced a positive turnaround when he was gifted a new house by Pastor Gabriel. Videos showed the veteran, in a wheelchair, expressing gratitude and offering prayers for the clergyman and his congregation.
In his final months, Suebebe sought forgiveness from women he had wronged in his youth, admitting to a wayward lifestyle that included stepping on many toes, particularly during his days as a musician.
