In a heartwarming display of family unity, Nollywood stars Kunle Afolayan and Aremu Afolayan have reunited following the passing of their mother.
A video shared on Instagram captured the two brothers sitting together at the Kunle Afolayan Film Village in Komu, Oyo State, engaging with friends and family who had gathered for the burial rites.
Though the reunion was a significant moment, the brothers were seen quietly seated, with no verbal exchange between them. However, they tagged each other on their respective social media platforms, which sparked an outpouring of emotions from fans. Many praised the brothers for putting aside their past differences, as reflected in the comment section. One user, o-latoun_olanrewaju, wrote, “Things we love to see,” while others expressed joy and support for the brothers’ reunion.
Kunle had earlier announced the passing of their mother on Instagram, sharing his grief over her death but finding comfort in the legacy of her good life. He also asked for prayers during this difficult time. His siblings followed suit on their own social media pages, mourning her loss.
Many Nollywood celebrities, including Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami, Lola Idije, Femi Adebayo, and Dele Odule, have since expressed their condolences and paid tribute to the late Mrs. Afolayan.
The brothers’ rift, which reportedly began years ago when Aremu publicly criticized his family and their father, seems to have been set aside for the sake of family and their mother’s memory. Fans are hopeful that this reunion marks a new chapter in their relationship.
