The Kwara LEARN (Kwara Leading Education Achievement and Reform Now) Induction Programme for teachers would benefit more than 80,000 more students from six local government areas in Kwara State: Edu, Ifelodun, Isin, Kaiama, Moro, and Oyun.

The expansion plan for KwaraLEARN, a basic education reform programme that is already revolutionising teaching and learning in 872 primary schools across the state, includes conducting the first wave of training for 1,762 teachers and headteachers, selected from 565 government primary schools.

The KwaraLEARN Induction training for 3,595 instructors is anticipated to be finished this month.

The project will now serve nearly 200,000 students in all six of the local government regions that make up Kwara, as well as all public elementary schools.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq created KwaraLEARN in direct reaction to declining student performance and poor learning outcomes in government elementary schools. The reform has transformed the literacy, numeracy, and general performance of students in schools where it has been implemented.

According to Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, the Commissioner for Education, said:

“What we are set to achieve with the ongoing training is a basic education ecosystem that is agile, technology driven and better focused on improving performance for children, irrespective of their socioeconomic backgrounds or locations,”

“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq believes that delivery of quality education is a strategy that can be used to fight poverty and build a greater Kwara, not just today but in the future.”
