LASG Turn to Solar Energy in Tackling Emission

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has reaffirmed its dedication to tackling the emissions problem. As part of its efforts to deploy solar renewables throughout the state, the state government held a high-level validation workshop on the gaps and needs assessment for energy projects.

A recent workshop in Ikeja revealed that the energy sector has the highest emission profile in Lagos state. The LASG Lagos, Climate Action Plan, recommends adopting solar renewables to address this issue. The Lagos Urban Development Initiative utilized several strategies to develop business and financial models to implement the project.

Furthermore, the Lagos Urban Development Initiative consultant, Mrs. Olamide Udoma-Ejorh, noted four crucial laws, acts, and policies of Lagos State. These are the Lagos State Government Electricity Policy (2021), the Lagos State Integrated Resource Plan, the Lagos State Climate Action Plan (2020-2025), and the Lagos State Resilience Strategy.
