Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe Visit Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun Ahead of Lisabi Premiere

Nollywood star Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Mo Bimpe, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, in anticipation of the premiere of Lateef’s highly-anticipated historical movie, Lisabi.

Governor Dapo Abiodun took to Twitter (now X) to express his honour in hosting the couple. He highlighted that Lisabi celebrates the legacy of Lisabi, a revered Egbaland warrior, and extended his full support to the project, commending Lateef Adedimeji for being a proud ambassador of Ogun State. He tweeted:

We were honored to host actor and filmmaker @TheDimejiLateef, alongside his wife, @Mobimpeoyebade, as he prepares for the premiere of his historical movie Lisabi in Ogun State. The film celebrates the legacy of Lisabi, a legendary Egbaland warrior. We extend our full support and wish him continued success as a proud ambassador of Ogun State.”

Lateef Adedimeji took to his Instagram and X accounts to share his gratitude for the warm reception, expressing how humbled and thrilled he was. The actor noted that it felt great to return to Ogun State and see his movie gaining such strong acceptance from the state government. He also praised Governor Abiodun for recognizing exceptional talents and championing youth empowerment and innovation.

He wrote:

I am deeply humbled to have been warmly received by the number one citizen of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun. My wife and I felt truly welcome, and it’s so great to be home. We are thrilled to see Lisabi receiving such strong acceptance and support from the State Government.”

Lateef also revealed his excitement about the upcoming premiere of Lisabi on Netflix, inviting the governor, his cabinet, and the entire Ogun State to witness the film’s celebration of freedom and heroism. He further emphasized the importance of the Lisabi project in highlighting Ogun State’s cultural heritage.

Kemi Filani recently reported that Lateef shared the Lisabi trailer, reflecting on his journey from working behind the scenes to leading an ensemble of stars in bringing this historical epic to life. The movie promises to explore the consequences of captivity and the transformative power of freedom.

Lateef’s colleagues in Nollywood have expressed their excitement and support for the film, flooding his social media with congratulatory messages and anticipation for the premiere.
