Social media users are buzzing after Big Brother Naija winner and singer Lekan Agbeleshe, popularly known as Laycon, publicly called out DJ Neptune over unpaid royalties.
In a recent post on X, Laycon demanded his share of the earnings from their hit remix, “Nobody (Icons Remix),” citing a four-year wait and the original agreement they had.
Abeg o… @deejayneptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though? Is it not still ready? Haba, it’s been 4 years o. Cc @emPawaAfrica.”

Laycon’s call-out is part of a broader trend of artists demanding their dues. In December 2023, Harrysong publicly criticized Kcee over unpaid royalties and unreleased songs, recounting his own struggles and financial hardships during their collaboration. Similarly, producer Napji recently accused Davido of failing to pay royalties for his work on several hit songs, revealing that he had only received advance payments and was still awaiting full compensation.
In response to Napji’s allegations, Davido wrote simply, “Your papa,” sparking further conversation online.
