Lege Miami reports himself after absconding on a date — and his reasons are sparking major reactions online.
The controversial Nollywood actor and matchmaker, Adams Kehinde, popularly known as Lege Miami, has gone viral again — this time for walking out on a lady he took out on a date.
In a video making the rounds, Lege revealed that he had taken a woman out to eat and while he ordered a meal worth ₦7,500, she went ahead to order food totaling ₦40,000. According to him, the bill was excessive, and rather than cause a scene, he quietly stood up and left her with the bill.
I took a girl out, which I rarely do. I ate food worth ₦7,500, while she ordered food worth ₦40,000 — food that even me I’ve never tasted before,” he said. “Me, I absconded. Instablog can carry it later and say I didn’t pay, so let me report myself first.”
His confession has since triggered a debate online, with some slamming him for being petty, while others praised him for walking away from what they termed “bill overreach.”
See some reactions below:
@samdot001: “Be a gentleman, bro.”
@kemini09: “She’s looking for a responsible man.”
@sweetmotherconfessor: “Then why take her out if you want to control what she eats?”
@sheismelanie_26: “That’s why I guide myself before I comot. If you do anyhow, I go pay my bills.”
@prettee_dimples: “Always order what you can pay for, in case this kind thing happen.”
Interestingly, this trending video comes shortly after Lege unveiled his new house in Maryland, Lagos. Taking to Instagram, he showed off the property with pride, thanking God for the gift of wealth.
“Wealth is God’s goodness. God’s gift, I swear.
Location: Maryland, Anthony by Newcastle. Miami house.”
The news sparked congratulations from fans and colleagues, though a few others threw playful jabs over his political affiliations and past struggles with English.
@bob_wealth001: “How much did Seyi Tinubu give you for this house project?”
@honourable_moshebola: “He no hear English, he no sabi English, see his achievement!”
Lege Miami’s name has been in the news for a variety of reasons over the years — from receiving an eviction notice allegedly tied to his support for President Tinubu, to calling out Pastor Adeboye for not making his private university free for church members.
He has also made headlines for online fights — including a public spat with a US-based Nigerian man during an Instagram live session involving a woman. At the time, Lege accused the man of being a scammer and offered to find the woman a better boyfriend, which led to a dramatic back-and-forth.
On the relationship front, Lege has revealed he’s dating someone, but says he doesn’t consider himself in a relationship because he “doesn’t take nonsense.” He has two children with a woman he described as incompatible and has never been married.
As for his role as a relationship advisor, Lege once told ladies to “marry early” because according to him, “men are scarce” and women now enter menopause at 35.
Still, whether it’s dating advice, drama, or self-reports after ghosting a dinner bill, Lege Miami knows how to stay in the spotlight — and keep Nigerians talking.
