Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe is reveling in her recent win at the prestigious Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, where she clinched the Best Supporting Actress title for her outstanding performance in Ada Omo Daddy.
The awards ceremony, held at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State, saw top Nollywood stars, filmmakers, and practitioners gather to celebrate excellence in the industry. Mercy attended the event alongside her husband, Kazim Adeoti, who expressed pride in her achievement.
Taking to Instagram, Mercy shared her gratitude, dedicating the award to her family, friends, colleagues, and fans. She especially thanked her supporters for visiting cinemas last December to watch her debut cinema movie, Ada Omo Daddy.
“This award is for everyone who has supported me this far! Your love and support mean the world,” she wrote.
Kazim Adeoti also celebrated her success, describing it as a collective victory for their family and production team. In an Instagram post, he praised Mercy’s dedication and resilience while encouraging fans to support her upcoming movie, Thin Line, set for release on December 13, 2024. Mercy responded with heartfelt appreciation, thanking her husband for being her pillar of support.
Ada Omo Daddy marked Mercy Aigbe’s debut in cinema production, grossing ₦180.7 million and earning her widespread acclaim. The movie was the third highest-grossing Nigerian film during its release, despite stiff competition from top Nollywood productions. Additionally, it secured 10 nominations at the BON Awards, further affirming Mercy’s growing influence in the film industry.
Encouraged by the success of her first project, Mercy is gearing up for her second cinema movie, Thin Line, which promises to be another captivating story. Fans are eagerly awaiting its release this December.
