Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe lost two phones at Iyabo Ojo’s highly anticipated movie premiere, Labake Olododo, held at Imax Cinemas, Lekki. The phones, entrusted to her assistant, went missing, sparking reactions and prompting Iyabo Ojo to offer a reward for their return.
The event, which took place on Sunday, March 23rd, was a star-studded affair with numerous celebrities in attendance. Unfortunately, the incident involving Mercy Aigbe’s missing phones overshadowed the evening. In a video shared online, Mercy expressed her frustration with her assistant, who had been tasked with keeping the devices safe.
Iyabo Ojo, showing support, appealed to the attendees to return the phones if found. She also announced a financial reward for anyone who could locate and return them, saying:
Please, we are looking for phones. Did you help us see them? If anyone sees a phone that isn’t theirs, I beg you to return it. I will personally give you money. Two phones, locate me, and I will give you money.”
The incident drew mixed reactions online. Some criticized the assistant’s negligence, while others empathized with Mercy, highlighting the importance of the private data stored on the phones.
