Argentina captain Lionel Messi has been nominated in three categories for the ESPY 2023 award. American TV broadcaster ABC will be giving the award. Messi had a fantastic year, scoring seven goals and dishing up three assists to help Argentina win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The seven-time winner of the Ballon d’Or also scored twice against France in the championship game at Lusail Iconic Stadium. The ESPY Best Championship Performance category has nominated Messi’s performance. Leon Edwards (UFC), Rose Zhang (LPGA), and Nikola Jokic (NBA) are more contenders in this area.
