New Manchester United Signing Sofyan Amrabat Withdrawn from International Duty

Manchester United’s latest signing, Sofyan Amrabat, has suffered an injury setback, forcing him to withdraw from international duty. The midfielder, who recently joined United, was initially selected in Morocco’s squad for this month’s international break but had to be replaced due to injury just days after his move to the club.

The exact nature of Amrabat’s injury has not been disclosed, although reports suggest it may be related to a minor back issue that occurred during his signing with the Red Devils. This setback is a blow to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who secured Amrabat’s loan deal from Fiorentina on Deadline Day.

Amrabat’s absence adds to United’s injury concerns, with Luke Shaw and Mason Mount also sidelined. Morocco’s national team, without Amrabat, will face Liberia and Burkina Faso during the international break, with head coach Walid Regragui calling up Yahya Jabranea of Wydad Casablanca as a replacement.

Amrabat, who had long dreamed of playing in the Premier League, expressed his desire to join Manchester United, and the opportunity to work with Ten Hag, who gave him his debut while in charge of Utrecht, played a significant role in his decision.

Despite their summer signings, Manchester United has had a challenging start to the season, suffering defeats to Arsenal and Tottenham. The club is hopeful that Amrabat’s injury will not prolong his time on the sidelines as they aim to strengthen their midfield options.
