- We are looking for a talented News Content Writer to contribute to our newsroom.
- This role involves researching, writing, and producing compelling news articles across various beats to inform and captivate our audience.
Responsibilities
- Write concise, accurate, and engaging news stories for publication in our newspaper and on our digital platforms.
- Stay informed about local, national, and international news developments and pitch timely story ideas.
- Conduct interviews with sources and gather information to support your reporting.
- Collaborate with editors, reporters, and photographers to coordinate coverage of events and breaking news.
- Adhere to editorial guidelines, standards, and deadlines to ensure high-quality content.
- Monitor audience engagement and feedback to refine content strategies.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a news writer or journalist, preferably in a newspaper or digital news environment.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with an ability to craft compelling narratives under deadline pressure.
- Excellent research skills and ability to verify information from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with AP style, journalistic principles, and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in digital content management systems and social media platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Salary
N50,000 – N60,000 / month.
