In a surprising development, the Nigerian police have announced the arrest of three individuals linked to the notorious celebrity gossip blog, Gist Lover.

The suspects, aged 27, 25, and 30, are reportedly members of the Gist Lover Family syndicate and have been apprehended on charges including conspiracy, cyber-stalking, and threats to life.

The arrests shed light on the alleged criminal activities associated with the Gist Lover platform, which has gained notoriety for engaging in cyber-stalking, incitement, blackmail, and other illicit practices. During the interrogation, the suspects revealed their distinct roles within the syndicate, providing compelling evidence to substantiate the charges.

Adebukola Kolapo, identified as the first suspect, played a pivotal role in the Gist Lover operation. He allegedly created over 80% of the Gist Lover pages and was responsible for scouting, editing, and captioning content for the blog. The ongoing investigation has reportedly amassed substantial evidence against him.

Gist Lover has been a source of distress for numerous celebrities, exposing personal details and issues of public figures. Last year, the blog targeted PBM winner Mercy AK, making unfounded claims about her health status, leading to vehement denials from Mercy AK in a tearful live video. The arrest of the Gist Lover Family members raises questions about the future of the platform and potential legal consequences for its operators.

The police’s crackdown on Gist Lover reflects the growing concerns about the impact of gossip blogs on the lives and reputations of individuals, prompting discussions on the need for regulations and legal measures to address cyber-stalking and false information dissemination.
