Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has taken to Instagram to address a man who sent her a direct message, claiming he is “available for her to buy.”
The actress, known for her outspokenness, posted a video clearing the air about an old controversy related to her dating life. Nkechi recalled an Instagram live session from three years ago, where a male friend had insinuated that only older men would be interested in her. She refuted the claim by stating she also receives attention from younger men.
To drive her point home during the session, Nkechi had joked that she could buy any man she wanted. Unfortunately, this statement was taken out of context and sensationalized by bloggers, leading to widespread criticism.
Fast forward to now, Nkechi revealed that a man slid into her DMs, referencing her past statement and offering himself for “purchase.” This remark enraged the actress, prompting her to lay heavy curses on the individual. She expressed her frustration with the recurring narrative and stated her disdain for clout-chasing and unnecessary controversies.
Sometimes it’s very good to react when something is said about you online, especially from cut-and-join bloggers who derive joy in using your name for clout and personal gains.
…Yesterday, someone sent me a DM saying he is available for me to buy him. I don’t know who you are, where you are sitting in the comfort of your home trying to bring out a narrative that will dent my image, but I say this to you today: it will never be well with you.
I don’t care about trending anymore. Ever since I stopped, I have been making more money. I have gone past that era of my life.”
Last month, Nkechi had similarly blasted individuals applying to be her “sugar boy.” The actress revealed she was receiving WhatsApp messages from young men offering to serve her in exchange for financial support. She made it clear that she is not a sugar mummy and described their actions as both irritating and annoying.
In January, Nkechi shared her outlook on choosing a life partner. She stated that her goal is not to marry a wealthy man but to become a wealthy wife. She emphasized her hard work and independence, noting that marrying a rich man is simply a bonus and not a requirement.
The actress has also been vocal about her decision to live a less controversial life. Last year, Nkechi shared her journey of self-improvement, explaining that her focus is now on personal growth, making money, and maintaining her peace.
I’m in my peaceful bubble 24/7. All I do is get up, do me, get my money, and mind my business,” she stated.
