Nollywood actor Francis Duru is mourning the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi. In an emotional Instagram post, the light-skinned actor revealed the heartbreaking news, comparing his son to a lion who fought fiercely for his life.
Despite the pain, Francis expressed his unwavering faith, stating that if this is how God wants it, so be it.
The grieving father affectionately referred to his late son as his “champ,” promising to miss him dearly and to love him forever.
His poignant words resonated with many, as he told Ifeanyi to rest in peace, expressing gratitude to God even in this moment of sorrow.
My champ!! My lion…you fought like a lion…if this is the way He wants it, so be it, I still judge you faithful…Ifeanyi, my champ….I will miss you, son… will forever love you…Rest in peace, son…rest…I give you thanks, lord!” he wrote.
Following his announcement, fellow Nollywood stars and fans flocked to the comment section to offer their condolences. Benedict Johnson, Melvin Oduah, Betty Irabor, Ushbebe, Precious Chikwendu, Chiwetalu Agu, and Ngozi Ezeonu were among those who expressed their deep sorrow and support for the bereaved family.
This tragic news follows a series of similar heartbreaking losses within the entertainment industry. Just last week, comedian Aphrican Ace and his wife were also grieving the loss of their newborn son, while last year, skit maker Olagunju Solomon Olamide, better known as Akika, mourned the death of his son.
