Ini Edo posted a touching tribute on Instagram with a photo of her late father, describing the post as the hardest she’s ever written. She wrote:

This post has been the hardest to make. I have lost my greatest cheerleader. My Beloved Father, My First Love. The Heavens have gained an Angel. You will forever remain in my heart. Rest on King.”

Fellow celebrities and colleagues flooded her comment section with condolences:

  • Judy Austin: “May his gentle soul rest in peace, so sorry darling.”
  • Rita Dominic: “So sorry my darling. May his soul rest in peace.”

  • Ruth Kadiri: “Oh dear, so sorry about your loss.”

Ini Edo’s loss follows a year where several celebrities have shared similar heartbreaking news.

BBNaija’s Hermes Iyele, skit maker Nasty Blaq, and singer Flavour have all mourned the loss of loved ones in the past year, joining a growing list of celebrities grieving parental loss.
