Nollywood Mourns as Veteran Actor Dejumo Lewis Passes Away at 80

The Yoruba film industry is grieving the loss of yet another iconic figure as Dejumo Lewis, a distinguished Nollywood actor renowned for his roles in “A Place in the Stars,” ‘Crossroads,’ ‘Power of 1,’ and his unforgettable portrayal of Kabiyesi in ‘The Village Headmaster,’ has passed away at the age of 80.

His colleague, Saidi Balogun, confirmed the sad news on Instagram, bidding farewell and praying for the peaceful repose of Lewis’s soul.

The cause of Dejumo Lewis’s death remains undisclosed, prompting an outpouring of condolences from fellow actors and fans on social media. Actors such as Adeolu Funsho, Eniola Badmus, Femi Davies, and many others expressed their sorrow and paid tribute to the late actor, emphasizing his significant contributions to the Nigerian film industry.

Dejumo Lewis’s passing adds to the list of losses experienced by the Yoruba Nollywood industry in recent times, including Sunday Ossai, Akeem Alamutu, Suara (Yemi Adeyemi), Iyabo Oko, and Murphy Afolabi.
