Nollywood actress Kudirat Abeniade, popularly known as Mama No Network, has shared the painful story behind her failed marriage to fellow actor Baba Lanko.
In an emotional interview on Biola Bayo’s show, Talk to B, Mama No Network recounted how they both worked hard to produce several movies, but things changed once fame and money entered the picture.
According to her, Baba Lanko announced his plans to marry a new wife after they started gaining success. The breakdown of their marriage came when he stopped coming home, and eventually, producers were instructed not to cast her in the same films as him.
Reflecting on the painful journey, Mama No Network shared how she suffered emotionally and physically while trying to conceive, even drinking kerosene during her search for a child. She credited her big stomach to the extreme measures she took during that difficult time. Despite the struggles, she eventually became pregnant naturally after she had given up hope.
Glory be to God today; he uses his money to call me for movie production. I wasn’t the one who left the marriage; he stopped coming home,” she revealed.
In May 2023, Mama No Network moved on from her past and found new love, officially tying the knot according to Islamic marital rites. Celebrating her new chapter, she sent a bold message to those who wished ill upon her marriage, affirming that her union is for life. “Back to sender,” she said, addressing anyone who wanted her new marriage to fail.
