Nollywood actor turned clergyman, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, has sparked controversy online with his playful mockery of South Africans following the Super Eagles’ victory over South Africa in the AFCON semi-final.

In a humorous video shared on social media, Pastor Jimmy remixed South African artist Tyla’s song “Water” to console South Africans after their defeat. While acknowledging South Africa’s commendable performance, he couldn’t resist teasing them with playful lyrics, highlighting Nigeria’s win and the consolation of Grammy recognition.

Addressing Nigerians, Pastor Jimmy cheekily encouraged them to celebrate the victory while offering lighthearted banter to their South African counterparts. His remix drew reactions from various celebrities, including Deyemi Okanlawon and Omowunmi Dada, who joined in the playful banter.

The video contrasted sharply with BBNaija star Ike Onyema’s trade proposal, where he suggested a swap of talent between Nigeria and South Africa, showcasing the diverse reactions to the Super Eagles’ triumph.

Meanwhile, singer Kizz Daniel’s promise to fly a lucky fan to the UK added to the post-victory celebrations, demonstrating the widespread excitement and support for the Nigerian team.
