Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has reportedly been attacked by a group of unidentified individuals in Iju Ishaga, Lagos.
The singer, known for his outspoken nature and hit songs, took to social media to share his ordeal, revealing that he was ambushed while celebrating with a friend.
In a video shared from his home, Portable is seen groaning in pain alongside his wife. He recounted how the attack unfolded, stating that he and his crew were in the area to celebrate a friend who sells cars. According to Portable, they were suddenly surrounded and attacked by some local thugs. Though he managed to escape, several of his crew members are still missing.
Portable disclosed that two iPhones and his ATM card were stolen during the incident. He described his attackers as “evil” and revealed that this wasn’t the first time he had faced such an assault. He recounted a previous encounter where his ice chain and gold earring were forcefully taken from him.
In his message, Portable pleaded with his friend, who is known as @lincon_orn on social media, to help him recover the stolen items and find his missing crew members. He mentioned that one of his artists, @iam_sexyshay, had lost two iPhones, and another, @bamidola_, was still unaccounted for after the attack. Portable expressed deep concern for the safety of his team, questioning whether the attackers were truly fans or enemies.
In his words,
Wahala big Palaba around Iju Ishaga. We go celebrate with @lincon_orn wey dey sell motor… Inside Adugbo wey we dey do show na so all dis Egbon adugbo achieve us. ZEHNATION boys are still missing oo… they attack my boys after I escape… @lincon_orn should help tell those Egbon adugbo to return @iam_sexyshay 2 iPhones and my ATM… we see @dullarboi phones and car… and we can’t still find him… I never see @bamidola_ we hear say them attack him… those are my artists that are missing oo. God no go shame us. All these people are evil. Na so them achieve me. Those Egbon adugbo collect my ice chain and my gold earring after I show them love, give them all my money they still won collect my bag… Are they fans or enemies?”
This is not the first time Portable has found himself in a violent situation. Earlier this year, he was allegedly beaten by Nigerian-American singer Esquare over a failed performance. Portable claimed that he was attacked by about 40 people, leaving him with serious injuries, including a broken leg.
In response, Esquare denied the allegations, providing their own account of the incident. Despite Portable’s injuries and the evidence he presented, he expressed frustration over the lack of public outcry or justice being sought on his behalf.
As the search for Portable’s missing crew members continues, the singer has called for justice and urged his fans and the public to pray for their safety. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of artists and their teams in the entertainment industry, especially when performing or celebrating in unfamiliar or volatile areas.
