Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has publicly apologized to Fuji music legend Saheed Osupa following their recent conflict. Taking to Instagram, Portable showcased a new look—his shaved hair—as a gesture of remorse and appreciation.
God bless you, sir, I am sorry, Bami,” he wrote, expressing gratitude to Saheed Osupa for withdrawing legal charges against him.
Earlier, Portable faced arrest by Kwara State police over accusations of criminal defamation, incitement, and character assassination against Osupa. After being unable to meet his bail conditions of ₦1 million and two sureties, he was remanded in a correctional facility.
However, Saheed Osupa had a change of heart, citing interventions from prominent Nigerians. His team, however, set three conditions for Portable: retract his defamatory statements, confess to falsehood, and sign an undertaking.
The dispute stemmed from an incident last month when Osupa flagged one of Portable’s songs for copyright infringement, leading to its removal from streaming platforms. Angered by the action, Portable launched a verbal attack on the Fuji star, mocking his physique and questioning his relevance in the music industry.
In a rare moment of introspection, Portable admitted his mistakes, attributing his actions to greed and seeking forgiveness.
Portable’s wife, Bewaji, also celebrated his release, sharing her gratitude on Instagram with the caption, “Alhamdulilahi.” The singer’s partner, actress Ashabi, mirrored her sentiments by expressing joy and sharing a romantic video of the couple.
