Nollywood actress and baby mama of Nigerian singer Portable, Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi, has offered an update on her life and relationship.
Taking to Instagram, she reintroduced herself while addressing critics and sharing insights into her personal journey.
Ashabi described herself as a filmmaker, graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, brand ambassador, influencer, and businesswoman. She proudly acknowledged being a mother of two and expressed deep love for her fiancé, emphasizing that her choices are hers to make.
She wrote:
My name is Omobolarinde Akinyanju (Ashabi Simple). I’m a filmmaker (story writer, producer, aspiring director & entertainer). I’m a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University (B.A Yoruba). I’m a brand ambassador & influencer. I’m a business lady (@simple_wardrobe1). I’m engaged with a man of my choice, and I love him so much. I’m a mother of two beautiful kids (a boy & a girl).
I’m a lane minder, so as much as I’m maintaining my lane, do not bring what doesn’t concern me to me. Note these:
- Never think it can’t happen to you; it can happen to anybody.
- Don’t judge anybody; you’re not in their shoes.”
Portable, the controversial street-hop artist, appreciated Ashabi’s message, commenting, “I really appreciate you.”
Ashabi’s post follows her recent public declaration of love for Portable. A few days ago, she shared her admiration for him, thanking him for his care and support while acknowledging their occasional disagreements. Her heartfelt words were:
Though we fight and have our flaws, you’re still the best. I want to love you more and forever.”
Earlier this year, Ashabi marked the New Year by celebrating her bond with Portable. Describing him as her “blessing in disguise,” she expressed gratitude for his presence in her life, adding that despite their challenges, they remain committed to each other.
The love story between Portable and Ashabi has not been without its trials. From public spats with other women to social media controversies, their relationship has faced scrutiny. Recently, Ashabi addressed trolls who criticized her for staying with the singer amid his alleged infidelity.
Reacting to allegations involving Portable’s girlfriend, Queen Dami, Ashabi maintained her stance against holding grudges, stating that Dami was always welcome in Portable’s home. However, she didn’t hold back when confronting her detractors:
To everyone cursing me, God will give you someone like her, and you will experience everything she did to me in multiple folds.”
Queen Dami recently reconciled with Portable after months of estrangement, igniting fresh controversies. Following her return, allegations about her personal life surfaced online, prompting Portable to confront her. The situation escalated when Dami reportedly fainted after being questioned about her body count, leading to a hospital visit.
