Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has opened up about his marriage and addressed long-running speculations about his relationship with fellow actor Allwell Ademola.
In a recent interview with Biola Bayo, Rotimi revealed that he had prayed to God for a wife like his mother and was blessed with exactly that. Speaking further, he recounted how his path crossed with Allwell Ademola through actress Ronke Odusanya, who was looking for a fresh face for her productions at the time.
According to him, Allwell not only introduced him to the opportunity but also guided him into the path that changed his life and launched his acting career. “From that day until now, I’ve been getting jobs every single day,” he said.
The actor addressed rumours suggesting that he and Allwell were romantically involved, making it clear that their relationship has always been professional. “People said I was dating Allwell. She even called me about it, but it was never true,” he stated.
Rotimi also reflected on his humble beginnings, revealing that before his big break in 2017, life was tough and he sometimes had to rely on strangers to pay his transport fare to auditions. He shared that he once battled an inferiority complex which only faded after he became a public figure.
In June, Rotimi and his wife marked their 10th wedding anniversary, celebrating a decade of love and shared victories. In previous anniversaries, he has publicly expressed deep gratitude for their journey together, promising to love her for a lifetime.
