Nigerian media personality Shade Ladipo has finally introduced the man behind her radiant smile. After years of keeping her personal life private following her divorce, she is now ready to share her happiness with the world.
The couple made their debut together at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and Shade took to Instagram to express her joy.
Shade Ladipo, known for her candidness, shared stunning photos of herself and her new partner from the TIFF event. She reflected on the blessing of finding a partner who enjoys similar interests, something she hadn’t fully appreciated until now. In her Instagram caption, she wrote,
Finding a partner who enjoys similar things is a what???? Blessing. I honestly didn’t know how important it was.”
This marks a significant moment for the media personality, who had previously opened up about her separation from her ex-husband during an interview with Daddy Freeze. Shade revealed that the COVID-19 lockdown had impacted her relationship, leading to the end of their marriage. However, after a period of healing and reflection, she is ready to embrace love once again.
In April, Shade hinted at her impending marriage by sharing a heartwarming video on Instagram. The video featured a surprise setup with balloons, candles, flowers, and a ring, signaling her excitement to walk down the aisle once more.
Shade’s journey to finding love again comes after her candid advice to women about marriage. In 2022, following Nollywood actress Rita Dominic’s wedding at the age of 47, Shade encouraged women to take their time before settling down. She emphasized that marriage should not be seen as an achievement in one’s 30s, and Rita’s story served as a powerful example.
In another instance of speaking her mind, Shade recently addressed the issue of women changing their surnames after marriage. She used herself as an example, questioning how she could easily change a name she had spent 20 years building.
She advised women not to rush into changing their names, especially when it comes to legal documents, pointing out that they work hard to build their personal brands and shouldn’t feel pressured to let go of that identity too quickly.
