Four years after the passing of Olanrewaju Fasasi, better known as Sound Sultan, his memory remains deeply alive in the hearts of many Nigerians.

Sound Sultan 4 years remembrance was marked with a touching post on his official Instagram page, where his team shared an emotional tribute video. The message described the silence left in his absence as loud—but his legacy, even louder.

4 Years Without Sound Sultan.
It’s been 4 years, but it still feels like yesterday. The silence you left behind is loud, but your legacy echoes even louder,” the post read.

The tribute honoured Sound Sultan not just as a music legend, but as a “prophet with a mic”—a man who used his gift to educate, challenge norms, uplift communities, and speak hard truths. From iconic tracks like Jagbajantis to Motherland, Sound Sultan consistently used his music to call for social change and national accountability.

You taught us that art should have a purpose,” the post continued. “You reminded us that patriotism isn’t just about waving the flag—it’s about holding our country accountable and loving it enough to want better.”

They also celebrated his humour, humility, and the ever-present smile that endeared him to many. “We carry you in every lyric, every conscious verse, and every dream of a better Nigeria.”

Sound Sultan 4 years remembrance is more than a reflection—it’s a commitment to continue the journey he started, to use art as a force for change, and to keep his legacy burning bright.

The late singer died on July 11, 2021, after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma, a rare form of throat cancer. He had been receiving treatment in the United States before his passing.

Over the years, tributes have continued to pour in. His longtime friend and fellow legend 2Baba once visited his gravesite while in the US. Jaywon, another admirer, shared a heartfelt message last year from Sound Sultan’s graveside, describing him as a mentor filled with wisdom and inspiration.

Even in death, Sound Sultan’s influence on Nigerian music, culture, and consciousness lives on.
