Nollywood actor Stan Nze recently stood up for his wife, Blessing Obasi, after a troll criticized her for not using his surname on social media.
Blessing had shared a promotional video for her colleague’s movie, Queen Lateefah, when a user, Oriretan Honour, questioned her decision to retain her maiden name on platforms like Instagram. The troll suggested that if she truly respected and loved her husband, she would use “Nze” across her profiles.
The comment read: “Blessing, it’s unwise not having ‘Nze’, your husband’s surname, on all your social media handles… Do the needful now. Avoid being a 21st-century kind of wife in character and mentality.”
In response, Stan Nze advised the troll to mind his own business, writing: “It’s unwise to be in people’s businesses. Please mind your business.”
His wife, Blessing, affectionately thanked him in her dialect, calling him “My King. Dim Oma.”
Stan and Blessing Nze, who married in 2021, have shared snippets of their life together with fans, and despite occasional challenges, such as a publicized disagreement during their first anniversary, the couple continues to thrive.
They welcomed their first child in 2023 and recently celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary, with Stan praising his wife as the most amazing woman and reflecting on God’s faithfulness throughout their marriage.
