Millie Bobby Brown, best known for her role in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, has announced her engagement to her boyfriend of two-and-a-half years, Jake Bongiovi. The 19-year-old actress shared the news on her Instagram page. She made a sweet post showing off her engagement ring, a glimmering diamond set in a gold band.
In the monochrome picture, Brown can be seen beaming from ear to ear while in the arms of her new fiancé. Furthermore, he is the son of legendary singer Jon Bon Jovi. In her announcement post, Brown wrote-
“I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all”.
Meanwhile, Bongiovi shared his own post, simply writing “forever” alongside two snaps of the couple.
The couple celebrated their engagement with a beachy photoshoot, with Brown dressed in a crochet dress and Bongiovi donning a cream polo shirt. The announcement confirmed speculation that had been circulating on social media over recent weeks after Brown flashed a glimpse of the ring in a recent post.
The actress recently dished the dirt on how she and Bongiovi met. She explained that they connected on Instagram and became friends through the platform before romance was sparked. Brown introduced Bongiovi to her 62.7 million Instagram followers in June 2021 with a cute photo of him. However, it wasn’t until she posted a picture of him planting a kiss on her cheek that they became “Instagram official.”
Brown called Bongiovi her “partner for life” in a gushing post.
She shared a series of pictures of the couple back in January 2023. The English actress became an internationally recognized child star on the smash-hit Netflix series Stranger Things. Jake also accompanied her on the red carpet in New York at the star-studded premiere of Stranger Things season four in May.
The 1980s-set show follows a group of teens in a fictional Indiana town. They battle supernatural forces unleashed by shadowy government organizations. Meanwhile, Bongiovi is the third child of rocker Jon Bon Jovi (John Francis Bongiovi Jr.) and his wife of over 40 years, Dorothea.
The announcement of their engagement comes as Brown’s career continues to flourish. She currently stars in the fourth season of Stranger Things. It has so far been a massive success since it premiered in 2016. With her talent and success, Brown is poised to become one of the biggest stars of her generation.
