Sunmbo Adeoye celebrates son and God’s faithfulness in an emotional birthday tribute as her miracle child, Prince David, turns 7.
The wife of clergyman Pastor David Adeoye and ex-wife of singer 2Baba took to Instagram to share her deeply personal journey to motherhood, recounting years of heartbreak, multiple failed IVF attempts, and unexplained miscarriages before her son David was finally born.
In the touching post, Sunmbo revealed that her breakthrough came unexpectedly — during a photoshoot celebrating her husband’s birthday, shortly after another painful loss.
“In the midst of that celebration… boom! The miracle clicked,” she wrote.
Despite past fears and miscarriages, she embraced her pregnancy with hope, encouraged by her mother and her son Nino, who once told her, “Don’t let fear steal our joy.”
Her pregnancy progressed smoothly, and with unwavering support from her husband, Pastor David, who had waited 21 years for a biological child, their long-awaited miracle was born.
“The moment David was born, his 21 years of waiting for his own child were finally over,” she shared.
Sunmbo also recalled posting her baby shower photos online despite warnings to keep things private. She left the pictures up as a declaration of faith, stating:
“HE WHO BEGAN A GREAT WORK IN ME WILL INDEED BRING IT TO PERFECTION.”
Now, seven years later, Sunmbo Adeoye celebrates her son with gratitude and bold encouragement for others still waiting on God:
“To anyone believing God for a settlement… my God will make you laugh. You see the belly smiles on David’s face? YES! That’s the one my God will give you. Wait. God can be trusted!”
