Scope Of Role
We are seeking an experienced surveyor to join our team and oversee field staff to ensure the timely completion of our projects. As a surveyor, you will play a crucial role in calculating land boundaries in various locations and generating accurate maps and reports of survey results for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct land surveys using a variety of tools and equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and digital levels.
- Determine precise measurements and locations of features on the earth’s surface, including boundaries, elevations, and contours.
- Research historical property records, maps, and other relevant documents to gather information for survey projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure accurate survey data for construction projects, property development, or land use planning.
- Evaluate survey data, perform calculations, and analyze results to produce detailed reports, maps, and drawings.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in survey data, ensuring accuracy and reliability of findings.
- Provide guidance and support to surveying technicians and other team members involved in survey projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and regulatory authorities to discuss project requirements, obtain necessary approvals, and address concerns.
- Stay current with advancements in surveying technology, techniques, and regulations to continuously improve surveying practices and methodologies.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others involved in survey operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, geology, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Professional licensure or certification as a surveyor (depending on jurisdiction).
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software, such as AutoCAD, GIS, and surveying data processing tools.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Experience with boundary determination, legal descriptions, and land surveying standards and practices.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and codes governing land surveying activities.
