Nollywood actress Tawa Ajisefinni has shared her emotional journey through infertility and the painful trolling she endured before becoming a mother.
In a recent interview with Biola Bayo for the podcast Talk to B, Tawa revealed how she was labeled a “barren woman” by many, which deeply hurt her.
Reflecting on the cruel remarks, Tawa said, “They called me barren, and it brought tears to my eyes.” Despite the pain, she found strength in her faith, which ultimately helped her overcome the challenges and silence the negativity.
In the same interview, Tawa also addressed rumors about her marriage, specifically denying any infidelity. She emphasized that she married her husband at 30 as a virgin, revealing how her personal beliefs and strong disinterest in men had kept her chaste until marriage.
Tawa also took a moment to talk about her relationship with fellow actress Funke Akindele, who she met after graduating. Tawa recalled how Funke helped her produce a movie early in her career, offering support and guidance during her rise in Nollywood.
Since welcoming her first child, a baby boy, in the United States with her husband, Tawa has shared her joy on social media, expressing gratitude for the long-awaited blessing. She posted maternity shoot pictures and reflected on her pregnancy, humorously sharing how heartburn made the experience difficult.
