Nigerian singer Timaya is making headlines this year for his relationship with American reality TV star Brooke Bailey.

Timaya’s preference for foreign women isn’t surprising, considering his past statements. In a February interview last year, the “Dem Mama” crooner explained why he avoids dating Nigerian women. While clarifying that he holds no grudge against them, Timaya expressed concerns about their upbringing and foundation, suggesting such relationships could be toxic. He likened them to a “police and thief” dynamic.
