Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up on social media about a frustrating visa delay that’s threatening to derail important career plans and personal moments.
Taking to Snapchat, the award-winning singer revealed that her passport is still being held up and she has no clue if her visa has been approved or not. The delay is putting a huge London shoot at risk—one tied closely to the rollout of her upcoming album.
I don’t even know whether my visa was approved or not,” she wrote. “All I know is that my passport is not out. I have a huge shoot in London, and if I miss it, I miss so many opportunities surrounding my album and its release date. I feel like crying.”
Beyond her music, the mother of one expressed sadness over how the delay has also ruined travel plans she had made for her son Jamil’s birthday.
Jamil’s birthday is tomorrow, and the travel plans I had for him are all ruined. My heart is so heavy. I’m just going to switch off today. Praying that God gives life and hope tomorrow.”
This isn’t the first time Tiwa Savage has spoken out about personal struggles. Not long ago, she addressed those constantly asking her for financial help. She explained that, like many others, she’s also navigating tough times due to the harsh economy. As a single mother, she added that she works day and night just to make ends meet.
Earlier this year, the “All Over” hitmaker had fans talking when she shared a video of herself swimming with sharks—something she proudly ticked off her bucket list. While many expressed concern, Tiwa used the moment to point out that the music industry is filled with people far more dangerous than sharks.
